Reservations Available for Celebration Senior Adult Day Luncheon Featuring Zephyr Woodwind Ensemble

 

In conjunction with their 37th Annual Hiddenite Celebration of the Arts festival, the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center will hold their annual Celebration Senior Adult Day Luncheon on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. The luncheon will feature entertainment by the “Catawba Valley New Horizons Band Zephyr Woodwind Ensemble.”

The program will be held at the Center’s Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Road) starting at 10:00am and will feature a delicious lunch, entertainment, and fellowship.

Cost for attending is only $8 per person with tax included. The menu will feature a ham & cheese croissant with a side of potato salad, deviled eggs, dessert, and a beverage. Reservations for this event are required and may be made by calling (828) 632-6966. Guests of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend this special program honoring senior adults.

Zephyr Woodwind Ensemble is a voluntary group, composed of woodwind players who enjoy playing music and want to share the experience with others. Zephyr was formed under the auspices of the Catawba Valley New Horizons Band, with current members playing the flute, clarinet and oboe.

After the luncheon, guests are encouraged to visit the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Road) to view their  gallery exhibit, “Life, Work, and Play,” watercolors by Zan Thompson. Guests may also tour the Center’s turn of the 20th Century museum and enjoy their exhibited collections of antique dolls, toys, gems, and minerals.

The Lucas Mansion Gallery and collections are self-guided and are admission free. Guided tours of the first floor museum are $4.00 each for adults and $3.00 each for senior adults.

The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s 37th Annual Hiddenite Celebration of the Arts is a free admission, one of a kind arts and cultural heritage street festival, held Saturday, September 22, 2018 on Hiddenite Church Road in Alexander County from 9am – 4pm.  The event features family friendly activities for all ages.
