The Brushy Mountain Quilter’s Guild is selling tickets for $1.00 each or 7 for $5.00 for a chance to win their queen sized annual project quilt “Diamond Finale”. Tickets may be purchased at the Reception Desk on the ground level of the Lucas Mansion. The drawing will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2021. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win. We hope you will consider supporting the Brushy Mountain Quilter’s Guild!
The quilt is on display on the second floor of the Lucas Mansion along with our “From Here” exhibit of art made by Appalachian State Faculty, and the hand carved waterfowl exhibit by James O Drum Jr. also located on 2nd floor. Make plans to come by and view these exhibits. The Art Gallery is FREE and located on the second floor of the Lucas Mansion Mon-Fri 10-4:30 and Sat 10-3:00.
The Brushy Mountain Quilter’s Guild meets once monthly on the fourth Monday of each month at the Educational Complex in the Brushy Mountain Quilter’s Classroom. Classes are currently on hold due to the pandemic; but we hope to resume soon and will keep the website and social media channels updated. Call the Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center at 828-632-6966 for more information or to put your name on our list now. Round up a sewing machine and learn how to make your own family heirloom from some of the best sewers in Alexander County. We need to do what we can to hand down this treasured craft to future generations to come.
