“Come Together” Choir to be organized for Multicultural Festival June 11th

In addition to the delicious egg rolls, tacos, crafts, and presentations, a “Come Together” multicultural worship choir for children and adults 8 years of ages and up is being formed for the Multicultural Festival sponsored by Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center to be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at the NEW Courthouse Park in downtown Taylorsville, NC.  The choir will perform on the NEW Rotary Performance Stage located at the park and will be directed by Tanjolla (Tootie) Cole.  The performance times are set for approximately 2:40 pm.

Two practice dates are set for Tuesday, June 7th and Thursday, June 9th from 6:30-7:30pm to be held at the Hiddenite Center’s Educational Complex (located at 70 Hiddenite Church Rd in Hiddenite, NC) Auditions for solos will be held on Monday June 6th at 6:30 in the Quilter’s Classroom at the Educational Complex.  To sign up for a solo audition, contact Tootie Cole by TEXTING (919)-749-8786 or EMAILING Tootie at

 “ALL people are invited to participate as we COME TOGETHER to celebrate our diversity!”, stated Donna Latham, Director of the Hiddenite Center.  “ This is a great opportunity to meet new people, sing songs of praise, and perform on the NEW Rotary Performance Stage in downtown Taylorsville while having loads of fun!  What a blessing for our citizens!  We hope to have so many people interested that the stage is overflowing!”, added Latham.  

The “Come Together” Choir will be led by vocalist and songwriter Tanjolla(Tootie) Cole who currently resides in Hickory, NC.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from UNCW, formal training in Worship Education, and has extensive experience in leading both children and adult worship and praise teams in Raleigh at North Christian Center, Dew4Him Prison Ministries, Summit Church, Trinity Academy, and Kairos Prison Ministries. Locally, Tootie serves as the praise and worship team leader at Liberty Grove Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC.  Her mission for this event is “to ignite and preserve unity, genuineness, love, and joy in praise and worship, and in her community.”  To access more information about Tootie Cole, visit her website at
