The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center also operates an Educational Complex, which is conveniently located just down the street from the Lucas Mansion at 70 Hiddenite Church Road.
The Center’s Educational Complex serves as a venue for performing arts events, offers classroom space for visual and performing arts, is equipped with a complete pottery studio, and contains dormitory space for visiting artists in residence. The Center’s Lucas Mansion and Educational Complex are wheelchair accessible.
Our Educational Complex is available to rent for special events throughout the year.
Renting Educational Complex
The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Educational Complex is available for rent to groups or individuals as an excellent location to hold special events. The facility is accessible to all and boasts hardwood floors, a 222 seating capacity, air conditioning, a full-service kitchen, and convenient parking. Our staff will be pleased to speak with you and answer any questions you may have regarding rental of the Educational Complex. Where is the Educational Complex located? The Educational Complex is located just down the street from the Lucas Mansion at 70 Hiddenite Church Road, Hiddenite NC. Get directions from Google Maps
How many will the complex seat? The complex has a seating capacity of 222 (Auditorium style) and approximately 175 (comfortable dinner style).
What type of kitchen facilities are available? A full-service kitchen is available for use at a fee of $35.00 per hour. (Minimum rental 3 hours)
What is the cost? The minimum rental rate for the multi-purpose room of the Educational Complex is $200 for three hours of use; Alexander County residents will receive a discounted rate of $150 for three hours of use. Each additional hour is $50 per hour. Use of the larger space does not include use of other spaces. Class rooms for smaller functions are also available at a rate of $45 for three hours of use and $15 for each additional hour.
Is the facility wheelchair accessible? Yes, all facilities are wheelchair accessible.
What about clean up after our event? Patrons are asked to leave the building as they found it. The Center will gladly set up tables and chairs IF the renter provides a diagram of how they wish the room set. Additional charges may result from excessive cleaning that must be performed following a use.
What is included in the rental? The rental of the facility includes the use of tables and chairs. Tablecloths (plastic) are available for a nominal fee. Use of the kitchen includes use of equipment only.
What about security? Due to complaints from neighbors and law enforcement, security may be required for any function at the Center. This security will be provided by a Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center chosen firm at the expense of the renter. Failure to comply will result in the renter not being able to use the facility.
The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center is a NON-SMOKING facility due to insurance regulations and for the health and safety of all of our patrons. The facility features a wooden, spring-hung floor which is great for dancing feet! Use our facility for family reunions, wedding receptions, parties, etc. Book early to insure availability of your chosen date.
