Book written by author Lynda Everett

Synopsis: Amy Lackey Williams was born in 1903 in Hiddenite, NC, the oldest child of 7 and lived to be 94 years young. She lived through the 20th century through 2 World Wars, the civil rights movement, Vietnam Era, and many other events which touched her heart. It was during the Great Depression she and her husband Lex Williams struggled to raise their family. Many hardships befell her throughout life but always she resounded even stronger than before. This book was written mainly by her and from her written memoirs and stories told to her daughters, granddaughters, and family members. If the facts are not accurate they were written as told and remembered. She lived as a self proclaimed Tarheel Democrat born and bred and endured the terms of 19 presidents. Nine of these were Democrats. Her love of God, country, and her family was evident to everyone who knew her. The Atlanta Braves won 3 World Series during her lifetime and were her favored team, watching them religiously. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized a Southern Baptist at the age of 12 at Sulphur Springs Baptist church in Hiddenite, NC, the home of her birth. Her talents and expertise were many including her cooking, sewing and crocheting skills. She could sing, play the piano, and teach. Many learned about Jesus and the Bible from her lessons and the value of giving to others. She was a wonderful role model for young people, as well as those struggling with difficulties and struggles in their life. Her words still echo in the ears of all who would hear her.
