Make It Take It workshops set for November 14th at the Educational Complex!
Jewelry Collage Jackie Daniel, Instructor 9:00 am until noon $25.00 Friends, $28.00 non-members Participants should bring one 8×10 frame (no glass) of their choice with stiff board insert. Covering for board will be provided as well as glue. Bring old, broken, and useless jewelry items. We will also have a “hodge-podge” box to dig through! Also bring needle-nose pliers with cutter section, or bring separate side cutter tool. Finished product will be a relief sculptural art piece you design and make yourself. A great way to use and preserve family keepsakes.
Fresh Greenery Wreath Allison Houchins, Instructor 10:00 – noon $25.00 Friends, $28.00 non-members Participants should bring hand-sized greenery (shrub) snips, and garden gloves. Greenery, wreath forms, floral pins, and ribbon will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring fresh greenery to share as well! Finished product will be a fresh greenery wreath that will last through the holidays. Additional instruction given on how to keep and dry for the next season.
Caned Wooden Footstool Allison Houchins/Brenna Pence, Instructors 1:00 – 3:00 pm $27.00 Friends, $30.00 non-members Participants will be provided with wooden stool frame and cane for weaving the seat. They should bring an old towel, table knife, heavy scissors, and gloves (optional). Finished product will be footstool or a seat for a child. Stool can be stained, varnished or painted later.
Colonial Toolbox Chuck Houchins, Instructor 1:00 – 3:00 pm $25.00 Friends, $28.00 non-members Participants will be provided with pre-cut kit for assembly, but should bring hammer, old towel, and gloves (optional). Finishing options include, plain, wood burning design, paint, or stain. This versatile original design has many uses besides tools! Repurposed as planters, storage, book rack, and more.
