Oh Little Town… Christmas at the Lucas Mansion. Come and see!
During the month of December the public is invited to enjoy “Oh Little Town” … Christmas at the Lucas Mansion! Thursday December 3rd- Wednesday, December 23rd. Mon-Fri from 10-4:30 and Saturdays 10-3. Come and enjoy a Christmas tour of the lucas mansion FREE! Please call ahead 828-632-6966 to reserve a space for your group. The Center is taking necessary precautions to provide a safe month long event for the public. Social distancing, wearing of masks, temperature checks, and reservations will be required! Bring you masks and let’s spread some Christmas cheer!
The paintings of Dana Roseman of Statesville will be featured in the Art Gallery and complemented by nativities from the collection of Bob and Lisa Barber. The stained glass art of Samantha Tilley will be featured on our 3rd floor Emerging Artist windows.
We hope you will consider becoming a friend of the Center. Due to Covid, the Annual Friends Open House will be spread out over 3 nights and by reservation only – Thursday, Dec 3rd, Thursday, Dec 10th, and Thursday Dec 17th from 4:30-7pm. Call the Center to book your Friends tour and purchase a membership – pay by credit card 828-632-6966, stop by the Center to drop off your payment, or visit our website to purchase a membership using paypal. Make sure that you call to reserve your space for the Friends Open House if joining via website. All new and renewing friends will receive their annual Christmas ornament and a take home pre-boxed container of Christmas horsd’oeuvres, and enjoy instrumentalist during their visit.
New members joining during the month of December will be entered into a drawing for the Alexander County Basket which includes a free trip to Gatlinburg TN and lots of other goodies from area businesses!
Your support provides funds to present performances to schools, support Junior Appalachian Musician classes, Pottery Classes, Summer Art Camp, Dance Classes, Art Classes, the Celebration of the Arts, Heritage Fair for 4th Graders, and events such as concerts, and dinner theatres.
Friends members receive 10% off purchases in the Gift Shop, discounts on classes at the Educational Complex, free admission to the Mansion, and special invitation to annual Friend’s Christmas Open House.
