The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center will offer one to four weeks of summer camp fun that will have kids ages 4 to 13 years old bursting with creativity! Cost for each week-long camp is $65 for members of the Center and $75 for non-members. Each day a snack will be provided during break. Membership discounts may be received by becoming a member of the Center for $30- Single or $45- Family. Call 828-632-6966 to register for one or more of the four Summer Camps and/or become a member of the Center by calling 828-632-6966 or visiting hiddenitearts.org. Campers enrolling in all four camps will receive a 10% discount. Sibling discounts are available as follows: First child pays full price with siblings receiving 10% discount each. Discounts may not be combined.
June 13-17th – Art In The Garden w/ Jeff Menzer, certified science and art teacher, and owner of The Natural Gardener in Asheville, NC. Mr. Jeff will be back by popular demand to lead campers as they explore plants, nature, and repurposing materials and incorporating them into art. Mr. Jeff also uses games and rhythm instruments to interpret his garden theme. Campers will work on individual and group projects, as they work indoors and outdoors. Monday-Friday Ages 4-8 will attend from 10am – 12pm and Ages 9-12 will attend from 1pm-3pm. 4 & 5 Years olds must be accompanied by an adult.
June 20-24th- Dive into Under The Sea w/ Samantha Strathy – Mrs. Strathy is a licensed art teacher and currently teaches at ACHS. Mrs. Strathy will lead Campers as they “dive” into the amazing world of marine life and the ocean habitat, while creating “under the sea” themed art using an array of art techniques such as watercolor, printmaking, ceramics and more! Monday- Friday Ages 4-8 will attend from 10am-12pm and Ages 9-12 will attend from 1pm-3pm. 4 & 5 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
June 27 – July 1st- Pop into Art w/ Samantha Strathy – Campers will venture into the life of pop art, exploring unique ways to make art full of personality using an array of techniques such as printmaking, ceramics, oil pastels, and more as they make art that relates to what they enjoy in everyday popular culture. Monday – Friday Ages 4-8 will attend from 10am- 12pm, and Ages 9-12 will attend from 1pm-3pm. 4 & 5 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
July 18-22nd- Mini Music & Theatre Camp w/ Amalie Hinson- Amalie is a licensed music and movement educator at East Alexander Middle School and an experienced children’s music and drama coach. During the week, camper activities will revolve around music, acting, movement, and crafts. The performance will be tailored to the artistic gifts of camp participants, with a musical production for family and friends on Friday, July 22nd at 4pm. This camp is geared towards older campers as follows: Monday-Thursday Ages 8-10 attend from 10am-12pm and Ages 11-14 will attend from 1pm-3pm. On the final day of camp, Friday, July 22nd, ALL CAMPERS will attend from 1pm-3:30pm with performance at 4pm.
