This 24 piece collection of prints are of the original drawings rendered by various artists of notable historic sites in Wilkes County. Residents of Wilkes and the region will recognize many as familiar landmarks. Just to name a few that will be on display are the “Smithey’s Hotel” rendered by Bruce Eilert, “The Tory Oak” by E. Wood, and the “Whippoorwill Academy” by the site’s late founder Edith Carter. Visitors may view this exhibit on display at the Lucas Mansion’s 2nd floor Art Gallery through May 30th. Special thanks to Jennifer Furr, Director of the Wilkes Heritage Museum, for her cooperation in making this exhibit available to us.
